A confirmed earnings date is one the company itself announced, in a press release on its investor-relations (IR) page or an 8-K on SEC EDGAR. Everything else on a stock-calendar website, including entries labelled "confirmed", is a third-party estimate until you can find the company's notice. Space companies usually publish that notice roughly two to five weeks before the report, so early in the quarter most dates are still unannounced.
This guide shows where to look, how far ahead Q2 2026 notices appeared, and what had been announced as of October 16, 2026. It is a snapshot: dates change, so check the linked company pages before you plan around one.
Confirmed vs estimated dates#
Many calendar sites project the next date from last year's pattern. That works until it doesn't, and they often show the same estimate for weeks. For our Q3 2026 check on October 16 we ignored every third-party calendar. Several of them showed dates for Rocket Lab, AST SpaceMobile, Karman and EchoStar that none of those companies had announced on their own sites.
Use this order:
- Company IR "Events" or "News" page. The announcement is usually titled "to announce third quarter 2026 financial results on ".
- The wire release (Business Wire, GlobeNewswire, PR Newswire) linked from the IR page.
- EDGAR. Some companies file the date notice as an 8-K; all of them file the results themselves as an 8-K or 10-Q.
- Only then a calendar site, treated as an estimate.
How far ahead do space companies announce?#
From the notices we could read directly (company release dates, not calendars):
| Company | Notice published | Report | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| BlackSky (BKSY), Q2 | July 16 | Aug 6 | 21 days |
| Intuitive Machines (LUNR), Q2 | July 28 | Aug 13 | 16 days |
| Iridium (IRDM), Q2 | July 9 | July 22 | 13 days |
| Voyager (VOYG), Q3 | Oct 1 | Nov 3 call | 33 days |
| Firefly (FLY), Q3 | Oct 14 | Nov 10 | 27 days |
So a gap of 13 to 33 days is normal. If a date isn't announced three weeks before the last report's anniversary, that is not a warning sign by itself.
Q2 2026 release dates, for reference#
Companies tend to report in the same week each quarter, so last quarter is the best guide to when to start checking. These are Q2 2026 dates from company releases or IR pages.
| Ticker | Q2 2026 report |
|---|---|
| VOYG | Aug 3 after close; call Aug 4 |
| SPCX | Aug 4 |
| VSAT | Aug 4 (fiscal Q1 FY2027) |
| RDW | Call Aug 6 |
| BKSY | Aug 6 |
| Karman (KRMN) | Aug 6 |
| Globalstar (GSAT) | Aug 6, release only |
| RKLB | Aug 10 |
| ASTS | Aug 10 |
| FLY | Aug 11 |
| LUNR | Aug 13 |
| Iridium (IRDM) | July 22, no call |
| Planet (PL) | Sep 3 (fiscal Q2 ended July 31) |
Two things to watch. Fiscal years differ: Planet's fiscal quarters end a month after the calendar quarter, and Viasat's fiscal year starts in April, so Viasat's "fiscal Q2 2027" covers the calendar third quarter. Some companies skip calls: Iridium and Globalstar published results without hosting a call, so look for the release, not a webcast link.
What was announced for Q3 2026 (as of October 16)#
| Ticker | Q3 2026 date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| SPCX | Tuesday Oct 20, after close; audio webcast 4:30 p.m. ET | Reported by a news site citing SpaceX's investor release; read the IR page to confirm |
| VOYG | Results after close Nov 2; call Nov 3, 9 a.m. ET | Company release dated Oct 1 |
| FLY | Nov 10 after close; call 5 p.m. ET | Company release dated Oct 14 |
| RKLB, ASTS, PL, LUNR, RDW, BKSY, KRMN, IRDM, VSAT, EchoStar, GSAT | Not announced | No notice on the IR pages or news lists we checked |
If you read this after October 16, some of those "not announced" rows will have changed. That is the point of the method above: check the IR page, not this table. For how to read the results once they land, see SpaceX Earnings Explained and Backlog vs Remaining Performance Obligations, which compare the figures that differ between companies.
A repeatable checklist#
- Put every ticker you follow in a spreadsheet with columns for last report date, announced date and source URL.
- Start checking each IR page about 4 weeks after quarter end, and again weekly.
- Record the source of every date. If the source is a calendar, mark it "estimate".
- Note the time zone. Release times are often stated in Central or Pacific time, and calls can be the day after the release.
- After the release, open the 8-K or 10-Q and read the exact figures rather than a summary.
Using Martian Alpha for this#
The Catalyst Feed shows company events across the space sector in one list, and a free watchlist can alert you to news on the tickers you follow. The terminal also has an earnings calendar with post-earnings reactions on the paid Professional plan. We don't treat it as a replacement for the company's own notice: when a date matters to you, confirm it on the IR page.
FAQ#
Are earnings dates on stock-calendar websites reliable?#
Treat them as estimates until you find the company's own announcement. Many sites project a date from the prior year and label it "confirmed" or "expected" without a source.
How early do space companies announce their earnings date?#
In the notices we read, between 13 and 33 days ahead. Iridium gave 13 days for Q2, Voyager gave 33 for Q3.
Do all space companies host an earnings call?#
No. Iridium did not host a Q2 call because of its pending acquisition by Rocket Lab, according to its notice, and Globalstar said it does not intend to hold earnings calls. Both still published results.
Why does Viasat's quarter not match the calendar quarter?#
Viasat's fiscal year begins in April, so its fiscal Q2 FY2027 corresponds to the calendar third quarter of 2026.
Where do I find the numbers once the company reports?#
In the earnings press release (an 8-K exhibit) and the 10-Q filed on SEC EDGAR. Those are the primary sources for revenue, backlog and cash.
